This depends on the size and nature of the project. Are we talking about a residential project, a hotel, or a resort, for example? As we specialise in high-end projects, we place great importance on giving each client our full attention and maintaining a highly personal approach. Since our projects also involve frequent travel, we take on an average of around 8 – 10 projects per year. New collaborations are considered selectively.

We work across a range of projects, from interior design to new-build and renovation projects. As a boutique architecture firm, we deliberately take on a limited number of projects each year, allowing us to be highly selective and dedicate our full attention to each project and client.

For international projects, we always begin with a site visit. In addition to meeting our clients in person, it is important for us to experience and get a feel for the location and its surroundings. Once we have a clear understanding of our client’s wishes and requirements, we begin the design process. We aslo assist in selecting a local partner who can support us with local building regulations, permits, and other requirements.

Throughout the project, we remain closely involved, overseeing the design and maintaining communication with the local parties. We keep our clients fully informed about the progress and development of the project at every stage.

Once the design process begins, we typically meet every two to three weeks. This provides our clients with enough time to carefully review the plans and share their feedback, while allowing us the time to thoughtfully incorporate their input and, when needed, coordinate with external consultants and partners.

We consider ourselves a boutique design office, deliberately keeping our studio small and highly personal. Our dedicated core team consists of four people: two architects, an architectural technician, and a part-time office manager. We believe that this scale allows us to offer a more personal and attentive approach. Our clients have direct access to the people working on their project throughout the entire process, without the layers of communication often found within larger architectural practices.

Absolutely. We actively enjoy collaborating with other creative disciplines and believe that the most beautiful and compelling projects are created together. Everyone brings their own perspective, ideas and expertise to the table, and we see this exchange as an essential part of the creative process. Depending on the project, we collaborate with carefully selected interior stylists, landscape designers and other design professionals, bringing together the right creative minds for each project.

For our international projects, working with local design firms is particularly important. Their local knowledge, professional network and understanding of regional regulations and permitting processes are invaluable in bringing a project to life. They help navigate the local requirements and permit process, while we maintain creative supervision and oversee the overall design direction. This allows us to combine our design vision with the expertise and local knowledge of trusted partners, creating projects that feel both distinctive and deeply connected to their location.

Sixhill Studio begins every project with a deep reading of the building’s cultural, historical, and spatial qualities. We explore what should be preserved, what can be unlocked, and where contemporary design can meaningfully elevate the architecture. Each proposal is crafted with respect for the existing structure while introducing modern functionality, comfort, elegance and the wishes of our client.
